DeWet Ferreira
Scholar Affiliates
DeWet, a pastor and counselor, divides his week between engineering work and teaching high school math/science. With degrees in Law and Ancient Languages, he delves into biblical history through archaeology and tours to Israel. His ongoing studies in theology drive his Bible teaching ministry, aiming to simplify profound truths for easy understanding while exploring the depths of the Bible and its profound relevance.
Charmaine Arderne
Charmaine earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Crystallography, specializing in Chemistry. Her research centers on studying small molecule crystal structures using X-ray methods. She grows tiny single crystals and applies single-crystal X-ray diffraction. By shining X-rays onto the crystal, she obtains a diffraction pattern, analyzing it mathematically to create an electron density map. This map helps determine atom positions, revealing the molecular structure. The fascinating part is the diffraction pattern's visual similarity to the night sky.
Shaun Johnson
Shaun, who is an electrical and electronic engineer by training and a control engineer by occupation, he has obtained his Masters in Big Data Science. With a holistic approach and detailed eye (and ear), he is a critical thinker, and practical problem solver coupled with skill in optimisation. Together with a firm and constant faith, he can demystify unstable ambigious discussions and zero in on the root issue/s.
Celeste Johnson
Celeste, who has her PhD in Theoretical Physics, is passionate about science, maths, problem solving and innovation, and has an ardent love for the harmony that exists between Science and Faith. She enjoys invoking and facilitating meaningful discussions with young people, and takes a first principles and logic-based approach to understanding life's biggest questions.
Dr Michael John Fulford Jarvis
Dr Michael Jarvis was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1942, schooled in Nairobi, Kenya and graduated with PhD in zoology from the University of Cape Town in 1971.
His research has mainly related to interactions between wildlife and farming activities and to avoiding excessive or unmerited destruction of wildlife. Some of his research related to wild ostrich nutrition and behaviour and applications of discoveries within the ostrich farming industry.
Michael has written 100 scientific and popular science articles, authored or co-authored 6 books and presented papers at 26 scientific conferences. A full CV can be downloaded from www.quantumevolutiontheory.co.za
Michael has spent his life in Africa and is now a South African citizen. He and his late wife Anna moved to Wellington in the Cape Province of South Africa but Michael may soon move to Pietermaritzburg where he intends continuing his research activities and providing consultations on various topics, including his understanding of relationships between his Christian faith and science, as expressed in his webpage www.factandfaith.co.za
Carla Mitchell
Carla holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Space Science and Technology Investment, focusing on the strategic implementation of space projects in Africa. Her research develops systemic models to guide investment in space science and technology infrastructure, using the MeerKAT and Square Kilometre Array telescopes as case studies. She designs frameworks that integrate engineering, policy, and economics to maximise benefits for African nations. For Carla, exploring God’s creation through science is a form of worship — a way to marvel at His universe while connecting cutting-edge research with social impact to inspire future generations.
Julie Hannah
Julie is a retired lecturer of Mathematics with a passionate commitment to logic and truth. For many years she investigated philosophy and a wide range of religions to answer the fundamental question, "Does human life have any significance?" Her decades' long quest finally led her to the answer in Jesus Christ. Revelations from science contributed to this conclusion, and she is committed to sharing these findings with others who seek the truth about our human condition.
“Many similar details circulate on websites and blogs, and sceptics often claim that the New Testament narratives must have been fabricated because they contain details that are found in pre-Christian pagan myths. But does the evidence support this assertion? There are two aspects to consider: Jesus’s existence as a historical person and the facts that the gospels supposedly borrowed from mythology.”

“A brilliant, open-minded agnostic’s search for truth led to this book. . . . Fairly and methodically evaluating evidence, the author first meets head-on popular myths about Christianity and skillfully debunks them. Working from her own special expertise, Hannah then introduces vital questions of mathematical physics often new even to scholars of religion. This work deserves a wide hearing.”
CRAIG KEENER, Professor of Biblical Studies, Asbury Theological Seminary

“The title of this book might suggest that it is another of the attacks on the biblical version of Jesus, of which there are many currently. This one, however, with admirable candor, is the record of how a genuine skeptic found the arguments of fellow skeptics wanting in all vectors of their cynical reconstructions of the life and teachings of Jesus. This is an excellent resource as a defense of the faith on a philosophical, cosmological, scientific, and theological basis.”
PAUL L. MAIER, Professor of Ancient History, Western Michigan University; author of The Genuine Jesus-Fresh Evidence from History and Archeology

“Mathematics lecturer, Julie Hannah, was on a metaphysical quest. She was profoundly skeptical about the historical basis of the Christian faith and determined to dig down and get to the facts—at all costs. . . . Pursuing truth is simultaneously a liberating and dangerous endeavor. It led Julie to embrace more than she bargained for. Devour this volume with an open mind. You too may find yourself on a dangerous, yet liberating, path.”
